I test drove the 3.0L V6 around melbourne and the eastern suburbs, returned great fuel economy, better then the 4L I6, if I was out in the country, going up hills and crap I would expect the torque of the 4L to give it better fuel economy, really comes down to where you do most of your driving.
I don't think Bathurst simulated realistic driving conditions. Stop/starting alot in melbourne really sucks the fuel out of the bigger engine.
