To get the permit you need the vin current rego dtls and owners name etc and you can do like I did and get your permit before you leave home.

Driving with no plates...wouldn't that be like red rag to a bull in terms of being pulled over on the cops on the way up?.....or do you get a special plate to use on the trip? Cheers
