Flappist, Ford published pictures of a drag race between the two at their proving ground, the EcoLPI had about a car length if I recall correctly. Although they did use a slight incline, so perhaps the EcoLPI's superior torque had a hand to play in it.

Well of course your BA XR6T will beat an NA XR6, although it wouldn't be "easy" to 100km/h - I know because I have done it with an FG XR6 (ZF) vs my mate's BAII XR6T (4 speed) - the XR6 demolished it off the mark, only once we got to interesting speeds did the turbo have the advantage for obvious reasons.
And since when was "thrill" simply about speed? As a family car they are plenty quick, 6.5 seconds to 100 kays is no slouch for a big NA sedan. An XR6 will beat most new cars on the road when you think about it. Ford is right to say they are a thrill, it's not just about straight lines, an XR6 with the ZF is a very well sorted car. I know I would have a lot more fun through some corners in a NA 6 speed XR6 than a 4 speed turbo - because I've done it in both.
Also Superfly is referring to the XR50 interior vs a regular XR6T.
