There are laws in Australia preventing insurance companies and others demanding things like , must take to preferred repairer. The ACCC is
currently looking into Suncorp and AAMI using their own repair shops and bypassing the independent repairer as creating a monopoly.
You need to say to your insurer you want to go to a repairer that has been recommended by people in the know, not theirs. Just a question, did you
ask Metro if they know the repairer that they want you to go to.?
Maybe they are a good shop. If they have shoddy reputation then you
can refuse. Also demand genuine parts be used and not bash and bog the panels. There are ways, just push a bit harder.
