Why? It was a known issue that was found out after the build and a recall issued. The fact that it wasn't done before he bought it wasn't his fault or Fords. Problem recognised and sorted free of charge by the dealers. If anything it should be a good example of quality control that Ford recognised issue and put out the recall. The second is how the dealer handled the situation.
Ford is not the only company who has recalls. Every manufacturer has them.
