Not really. He pledged his allegiance early, Tesla was going great guns during the campaign, share price was rising, and hit a record high AFTER the election results. That would suggest it has very little to do with the colour he chose.
If you really want to understand why the backlash, go have a read of his tweets from about January onwards. And look at his actions. He has done a lot of damage not just at home, but possibly abroad.
And I say this as a former Elon fan boy :P

At the end of the day, money talks. If Tesla can show value, pay a good dividend, the stock will go back up and the Tesla brand will be restored. Though directors selling isn't a positive sign.
