I hope you are correct. Now what Ford need to do is offer the Turbo I6 engine and higher spec models such as the G6.

You will probably find that this is an error, and that he is referring to FG (sedan and ute), The decision on BFIII has not yet been announced. The mistake is only made worse by the picture!

If you actually read the article, there is no mention of the Wagon at all. More shoddy work from carsguide!

Your right, it doesn't say anything about Wagon... I guess I saw BF Falcon & picture & just thought they were talking about the Wagon.

He confirms the current BF Falcon will run until 2015, with the Territory out to 2016, and says Ford does not need to make any serious planning decisions on the cars until the middle of 2011 at the earliest.
The article says BF.... Someone got it terribly wrong when they wrote it!

Interestingly, it says the **BF** will continue until 2015. This would imply the wagon. It's either a typo, true or carsguide proving how professional their journalism is.......

Either way, why have that as the title, then go off on a massive tangent about the Detroit Motor Show...

The current generation Territory will run until 2016? Holy Moses. Over the course of one generation of Territory, Toyota will have done three generations of Kluger...

Just to let you know it has been documented that there will be a major model upgrade very soon.

If indeed it isn't a typo and Paul Gover is not useless (unlikely) and the BF wagon is going through till 2015, then FG will run atleast that long anyway, so he may as well have said FG.

It's only a mid cycle refresh, mules were spotted last year with FG interiors. I'm not convinced they will change much of the body.

All that will be carried over is the passenger cell and doors, which is substantially more than a 'mid cycle refresh'.

Same as AU to BA...which funny enough is the exact example given by those in the know RE the engineering changes. Launched most likely on the back of the diesel (unless the update is delayed to the point that Ford can put diesel in the current car with minimal issues i.e. launch the diesel in the current car to keep sales momentum and focus on new gearboxes for the petrol model come the update).

"new' territory will be a significant improvement and likely to restablish full dominance in the segment, not that territory is really far behind now anyway....

That's what a mid cycle refresh is. However nothing has been confirmed, you might find it's just a front and rear sheetmetal job with FG interior, it's not like the have a massive budget.

Same article in today's Herald Sun, Gover is either playing funny buggers or so useless at his job he forgot the FG is the current model.

You have to remember this is the bloke who praises the inline 6 Falcon everytime he drives it, but 2 months later forgets and refers to it as the "ageing 4 litre 6". He just seems to conveniently forget how good the Falcons actually are

I'd say it was just a slip of the mind from Gover, easy enough to do, as for the picture and title, that is just shoddy clerical work from carsguide. The article carried a different title in the Herald Sun today.

Perhaps, perhaps not. The current Territory will be around until the end of this year/early next and will be using the Copperhead I6 until then, but will be Euro 4 compliant. In fact, I am led to believe that Copperhead is already E4 compliant with some calibration and exhaust changes.

The wagon uses the same motor. Considering its all about E4 compliance, and they sell 4-500 wagons a month (which is money for jam really as the R&D and tooling costs have long since been paid for) keeping the wagon going isnt going to cost them the earth. The only issue I can see is production line and stamping plant complexity having to deal with 4 different body types.

Again the territory is scheduled for a major update very soon. It's been well documented over the last few months by certain members of this forum.
