Default URGENT. 4 speed on 250 xflow. gears not moving.

Hey guys I'm in eaglby near logan and we've just chucked on a 4 speed onto my 250 x flow. At first the gearss didn't move at all, but after a while they have loosened up slightly but we cant find all the gears, only cm move up and down. How do we loosen em up? I need to drive back to hervey bay today so I need it working!
There's a thread going into the gearbox itself with a nut on it which adjust how far in or out the thread is, does this change the looseness of the gears?

Does it drive at all?
Don't adjust that thread on the side.
Sounds like the selector shaft it partially siezed. Which is not good news....

The nut on the side is a lock nut holding the ecentric shaft adjustment in place. I do remember the incorrect adjustment of the ecentric bolt can lock up/stiffen the gears though.

Maybe it was knocked etc when box was was out of the car.

Did the box select gears ok before fitment?

Anything coulda moved it its been in a cbc garage most the year and I've just tried bringing it out to see if that freed the gears.
But I need to know if it can loosen the gears?
We've got the rear end jacked up to see if it could go. there is only one spot to move the gear that spins the wheels

Pop the top off and have a look. I know when I rebuilt my single rail I put it back together with the seletor set to I think 3rd and another gear. Sucker was locked tight. Yeah that was a good lesson.

re reverse idler adjustment:

-ensure shift rail in neutral
-loosen nut
-ensure centre pop or punch mark facing top of case
-turn with screw driver clockwise until shifter rail becomes tight to turn then back off slightly (anti Clock Wise) until shifter rail rotates freely in neutral.
-lock up nut in that position

Bar this the only thing I can think of is the shifter mechanism/forks is jammed/stuck in the the box. i.e two gears engaged at once (and you can turn input/output shafts.

Its 100% reconditioned
Like shiny silver all over, Baught it off a bloke who showed us the papers for it. Before we chucked it in it wouldn't move at all but I chucked some oil in it after putting it in and the gears freed up so we could easily move it up and down.

did you take the top cover off at any point? if the aligning hub isnt in its groove in the cover you can engage 2 gears at a time making it lock up nice and solid. Sounds like you'll need to take it off to assess whats the problem at least.
