Default Smoked Alteza Taillights Illegal?

I want to chuck some smoked alteza taillights on my xr6 ute, is this illegal?

alteza ones are usually poor quality and look like rubbish too

Aslong as they have the relevent ADR number stampings in the lens they will be legal

Um, that's the whole point

With SAE/DOT E marking (E1, E4 etc) they should be. To pass ADR's, the product needs too meet the requirement's set out in the national standards...


This means the product is tested and approved for use.


However, there is nothing stopping a dodgy company stamping a lense with these numbers...

Depends if they're smoked in the factory, and still provide sufficient braking output.

Take mine on my BMW for example, smoked but clear so the LED's shine bright through the lens, brighter than the factory assembly too.





Otherwise, just leave them mate, it's not worth someone rear ending you then saying "I couldn't see your brake lights under the paint you have on them!"
