Default Panel beater Sydney?

Hello,

Thought I would also ask here besides Paint and Panel as I need the work done soonish. Mods please delete if you feel it necessary.

Have so minor damage done to my car and have been asked to obtain 3 quotes.

Can anyone suggest a Sydney based panel beater I can take my car?

I'm not paying and want a top quality job.

Near new Mitsubishi Outlander if it makes a difference.

Thanks,

Jason

Can you go through your works insurance? Only reason i say this is then you can choose your repairer.

I got rear ended by a muppet and chose my repairer. His insurance agency tried to fight it but they had no choice as legally if it's not your fault you can choose whoever you want to repair your car so long as the cost is reasonable.

I didn't even put a claim through my insurance

SW Sydney I guess would be preferable.

Thanks

Yeah, I'm certainly not going through my insurance unless they don't play ball, and I have no reason to believe they will try to shaft me.

I have already been told to get 3 quotes by work, what they do with those quotes is up to them. 2 cars were damaged, mine being the worst one.

Probably looking at a total bill of $7-9k for both cars at a guesstimate???

They may choose to use their insurance or pay it themselves. See what happens I guess.

Largest area of damage is a 20cm crease across the top corner of the D pillar from the edge of the hatch opening to the edge of the side glass - probably pushed in several cm.

Nothing on the roof from what I can see so far...

Have you got photos of the damage? Anything more than a superficial scratch on any of the pillars usually renders cars stat writeoffs.

I do, but I just want my car fixed. Met up with the repairer that the dealership uses and he didn't think there was more than $6k in it to repair.

No way they will write it off for that....

I don't want to be difficult or make a fuss, just want the car fixed back to how it was.

I've used Double J Smash Repairs, 23 Harris St, Condell Park.
They did some work on my car, and even the body repairer at my workplace can't pick the respray.

I called them twice to arrange an appointment for a quote.

It's a shame that only after I arrived they said I must pay a $100 upfront 'Quote fee' before they look at the car....

They assured me I will get it back when they got the job.

No quote from them unfortunately.

Wow. The owner, Gabriel, used to date a friend of mine, so perhaps he waived that for me.

I've only had 1 car smash repaired and I can tell you one place I don't recomended. I won't name names, but the car was days late, yes the rear bar was replaced as what the job was, but the drivers side corner of the front bar had been filled and sprayed (it stood out in the sun), the airbox resonator which sat under said part of said bumper bar was missing, and there was a cracked windshield with hair in it. No it wasn't because the car was parked half in the sun and half in the shade causing the glass to heat up unevenly and crack, which regardless of if it was they're still liable, that's the excuse I got. Old mate with the patch on his noggin, belting away in the workshop crashed it. The rear bumper was atleast paint matched really well, but they're still jerks.

I think $100 for a quote is fine but they should have told you first.

"Get three quotes", sounds easy if you say it fast.

Go back to work & say "Gimme $300".

Totally Smashed in Bankstown (22 Arkley St, Bankstown). They brought my XR8 back from the dead (crashed at Philip Island racing last year).

They do very good work! Ask for Karl and let him know you know me (Kieran). He'll look after you!

Before and after for my car!

Collision Central in Five Dock.
Tom is the owner - I have used them for years and years.......
Done work on all my cars and families, recommend him.
He wouldn't even think to ask for a up front quote fee.
