After years of dropping the auto Focus from my focus because of the powershift dramas I have been informed that they have been running a 6 speed auto since about Nov 2016.
Im considering buying one now. I have heard a report that the RS or ST(?) have head gasket problems. Does this head gasket problem extend to the 1.5 turbo engine too? If so have Ford come up with a fix for this? Are they a good thing or not? |

The LZ has a torque convertor auto. I have a 2015 LZ 1.5 have done 72000kms and have no issues whatsoever with it. I intend to run it to 150-180000kms in the next 2 and a bit years and then trade it on a 2019 Focus active/Ford escape. I have not heard of any head gasket issues with the 1.5 and monitor various forms and websites.
My wife has a powershift 2012 Fiesta and the support from the local Ford dealer has been great. The transmission now has a ceramic clutch (all done at Fords expense) and is operating well. |
