Default EF EL King Lows changed to King Super Lows & King Ultra Lows (Pics)

Well I was okay with my ride height on my EF Fairmont fitted with King Lows until I went for a few cruises...............

So I added a Thread (CLICK HERE )for pics of other members cars fitted with King Super Lows and/or King Ultra Lows Fitted and I realised that this is the look I want.

So after 48 Hours of Research
A call to Justin Suspensions and $599 Later

This is the result:-

Before:- King Lows + KYB Shocks Front
King Lows + Monroe GT Shocks Rear

After:- King Lows + Ultraride Short Shocks Front
King Ultra Lows + Ultraride Short Shocks Rear

Before

After

Before

After

Now the after pics have just been taken about 15 minutes after the King Super Lows and King Ultra Lows have been fitted so they still have to settle

BUT what you can see already is that UGLY gap in between the wheel arch and the tyre has already gone

I am very happy..................

Plus i got a new sticker, lol

I did offer a forum member $100 to do it but then I would of had to get the parts, the $599 was supplied and fitted.

Nah front gaurds aren't lipped..

Justin, who removed the old suspension asked how long I had it fitted for and I said about 12 months, unsure of exact date can look up receipt, asked him why, he said he thought they were only fitted for upto 6 months as they are still in very good condition.

I will pm you with some photos once I clean the dust of them and we can go from there.

That's a steal of a price to get installed! Good work mate, sitting very nicely.
Haven't heard of Ultraride shocks before, but doesn't mean they aren't any good. Throw a photo up in a few months time when they've settled.

Nah thats his price and yes I was lucky as another froum member put me on to him...........

Anyway afterwards i used trusty eBay to price up the gear.........

King Super Lows Front - Cheapest $120 Pickup Frankston
King Ultra Lows Rear - Cheapest $120 Pickup Franskton
Ultraride Stock Shocks Front & Rear - $299 Pickup Ringwood (I would assume the Short Shocks i have would be more)

So thats the cheapest I could find, then I would either have to pay extra for postage OR drive to Frankston then Ringwood to Pick the gear up and pay extra for the short shocks compared to the std shocks

So total $539 Parts (thats if they arrived for FREE and thats if it didnt cost extra for the short shocks)
So as the total was $599 (basically in this theory) he would of only charged me $60 to fit them............

So yeah that is cheap........................

Yeah i hadnt heard of then before either but at the moment the ride is better than when I had the King Lows in with KYB Stock Shocks front and Monroe GT Stock Shocks Rear

And i will thow up another photo in a couple of months when they have settled.........

does anyone other than Pedders make a lowered spring seat front shock for e-series falcons? short shocks is one thing for ride quality but the pedders shocks drop the front an extra inch.

That's the whole point mate. It means you don't have to use such short springs so you can maintain some suspention travel while still being low.
To answer your first question, I think the Ultrarides that DRHEMI is using are the same deal (unless I read it wrong, which is posible).

Yeah the Ultraride are short shocks............

Its actually a much smoother ride than when I had the King Low Springs fitted and Standard Sized Shocks.......

yeah... but some people get confused - short shocks do not necessarily have a lowered spring seat!

the front of yours didnt look as low as say rmyers car (which has lowered spring seat pedders shocks).

i wanted some of the pedders ones to drop mine a bit more but the cost is a bit much.

I just got king superlows all round. Put the rears in today but ran out of time for the fronts. It lowered allot more than i expected. Ive seen cars on this site with ultra lows in the rear with shortened shocks.. and mine is about the same with superlows and std shocks!

Anyway, how do i change the fronts? Iv'e heard they're allot harder than the rear, any instructions?

Yeah prob in another 2 to 4 weeks is should sit better.

I like Monroe GT's shocks, IMO they are a good shock.... there are a few photo's around that will show you what an EA, EB or ED looks like when its lowered so you get an idea like this one:- http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=83465
