Difference between models?

I know that there's a lot of differences between say an EA and ED.

But the EB II and ED look identical same with an EF and EL.

I heard there were 72 faults from the EB II to the ED.

Is there anywhere where I can find a list of all the faults?

72? Where did you get that number? I'd be questioning that source you have...

i wouldn't be suprised if there was 72.. but you'll find a lot of them werent faults, but simply changes, and minor ones at that.

I'd agree with John, they're more likely to be changes.

Things like

* Grille
* ABS introduction on some models
* Hubcap/rim changes
* Interior cloth pattern changes

etc etc etc

That number would get up to 72 fairly quickly

I recall there being some 8 or 9,000 parts changes for the ED, but am sure they have some dodgy way of counting it. I don't like the word 'faults' regardless.

Without trying to list the differneces, my brother has a eb2 and i've got a 93 ed, both cars are on gas and have cat back exhausts and sit on a set of mags slightly better then stockies. there seems to be more power with the ed, as i can get away from him when draging (in a controlled legalised environment, our dirt road :hihi: ). i think my car has more warning systems, or that my be due to mine being a ghia.

EBII and ED are almost identical, the biggest cosmetic difference being the grille. Also on EB the plastic that surrounds the number plate and reversing lights (I'm not talking about the whole garnish) is black. On an ED it is grey/silver. The biggest cosmetic changes were made to the XRs. On the EB, the XR looked like an S-pack but with shinier wheels. On the ED, it got new wheels, but most importantly saw the arrival of the quad headlight front. The ED also received better side intrusion bars (On that topic, I'm glad DAFISH drove an ED rather than an EB, or else he would be in far worse condition)

well they think of one thing and then they make the car and then people think o look a new model car and they havent really done much to it

Easy ways to tell. If it has a 3.9 litre engine, it's an EB1. If it has a 4.0, it's an EBII. EB1 had 4" front speakers. EBII had 6".

EB2. EB1 was up to 2/92. From 3/92 was EB2

It is easy to forget the more subtle changes to ED under the skin, such as CFC-free air conditioning and heavier duty tow pack option, various Tickford option packs including XR8 Sprint, reintroduction of the value-packed Futura... It wasn't exactly a VR-basher but I think they focused on the right areas.

It is basically a different refrigerating gas used in the system. In EDs, a new refrigerant called "R134a" was used. It does not contain CFCs, (Chloro-Fluoro-Carbons) which is a dangerous substance that damages the Ozone layer when released into the atmosphere.
