Default knock in rear suspension - AU3 SR

my wife pointed out a 'knock' in the rear suspension of our AU3 SR (stock) the other day. it seems to be more noticeable over slow bumps.

just wondering if this could be a simple case of tightening the nuts on the rear shock tower? or any other suggestions.

i'll stick my head over it and under it on the weekend to see what i can see see see, but was hoping for an easy answer

cheers

Mine keep coming loose, I have been back to JAX twice in the last 8 months, they just tighten it and it gets good again. Was told it was a quite common problem.

cool, might get some lock-tight through the week. should i be looking under the car or in the boot?

don't want to crawl under car for hours to find it in the boot, and don't want to pull carpet out of boot to find out its underneath..

It might be the dreaded AU rear shock mount that may need replacing. Its a common problem.

yeap, rear shock mounts. happened to me too. i herd heaps of slight knocks here and there. Took it to Pedders for a 12 point safety check and was advised of the mounts needing to be replaced.

He also told me it was a common problem among au;s

I doubt it's got an IRS setup, but interesting to note the findings nevertheless. How many k's since the shocks were last changed on the SR Pete?

the lower rear shock mounts can make a bad knocking noise if not done up extremely tight. Has happened to mine a couple times. Had to tighten them as much as i possibly could to stop it.
