Default Hi. I have a problem with my AU 1.

The exhaust has been on its way out for some time but it finally let go today. When it finally sh** itself, the whole car was shaking. I knew this wasnt good. Got new exhaust system but now she only running on five cylinders. Is this just coincedence that one of the leads or the coil has gone or would the exhaust problem have stuffed the oxygen sensor ? Im at a loss. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Coincidence I reckon. Check no 5 7 6 leads - my bet is one of them is broken.

4 hey? On mine, it was 5 and then 6, which is why I suggested that, but glad you found the problem. Make sure when you get new leads that they are definitely for an AU1 - there is a big difference between AU1 and AU2/3 leads, and they are not interchangeable.

JC is right. The leads are more than likely shot. Also on the au 2 cylinders fire at the same time so 1 broken lead results in a second plug not firing properly.

Could be spark plug then, or coil pack. Change plugs first, then do the coil pack if the problem still persists. Those 3 elements are pretty much all it could be.
