hey, i have recently got a 2.5" cat-back exhaust installed into my 2000 model AU Falcon and i am wondering if i would be getting any extra power. i think that a stock engine produces 157Kw of power. would any one no how much extra power i would be getting now?
cheers |

Had mine done last year, Stock was 104.9kw and then made it to 120.2kw after the 2.5" Frogspec Exhaust was chucked on
anything from 10 - 15 kws is a bonus

When I fitted a redback system to my ELXR6 the power difference was negligible.
What made a reasonable difference were Pacemaker headers and a CAI. If you are looking for a few more ponies headers are a must, imo they are a worthwhile mod with the Ford 6, made the vehicle a bit more responsive but don't expect to much. Hope this is of some help to you. |

I'm guessing AU2PWR got a full exhaust, You won't get any gains at all with a cat back because you still have the same restiction of the factory exhaust manifold and stock cat.

thats an impresive result for a cat back exhaust, I didn't think there would be any gains. As I said before, I thought the exhaust manifold and cat would be more rextrictive, so you wouldn't get any gains unless they were replaced first

the cat is the Most restrictive thing i thought .. when i took mine out .. i mean err .. replaced it . the car revved heaps more and felt even more powerfull , then the power jumped another 10kws witht he extractors
