Angry central locking issue

hey, i have this issue with my central locking in my 2000 au falcon. i have read other topics on this and know that it is common on au's. this is my problem: the central locking works fine when i use the key to lock and unlock it but when i use the remote it doesnt seem to work. when i press the remote to unlock it you can hear the locks trying to unlock but they dont, while when i try to lock it it makes the same sound and then starts beeping qucikly for a few seconds. the boot control on the remote works fine and the only problem is with the remote locking and unlocking my car. do you think i need a new remote or something? please help as it is quite frustating.

cheers neil

Actuator in the drivers door. When you turn the key, your forcing the lock to close, but when you press the button on your remote, because the plastic cog/spiral that is meant to make the door lock is broken, nothing happens and the car thinks that one of the doors is open, hence the beeps.

Just read over it again quickly, do you lock the doors with the key then press the remote to lock all the others?

Yeah, should just be the actuator. it'll take about 30min to fix. Just need to pull the door trim off, take the old one out and put the new in.
