If it's being imported for motorsport use it can *never* be road registered. Thems the rules boys. Otherwwise you get to pay a stack more on import duties and trying to get the thing to comply to adrs.

an import approval is reqired to comply a car .. no import approval for road use .. no compliance ..
no compliance no vin number no vin number no rego .. its impossible to register a race only import !!

Didn't I read that the even the road going version for release next year will require an engine tear down / rebuild every 100k ?
Something to do with the plasma cylinder bores and special pistons. She won't exactly be an economical proposition if that's part of the running costs.

I'd say the real reason it's offered as race only is no one can comply them yet. These will be importable for road use at some stage.
