The stock MAF is 70mm.
Can I ask why you are looking for bigger? What sort of power are you making? Do you have an edit/flash tuner?

All MAFs are 70mm, the TB was 65mm on AUs and AU2s, and 70mm in AU3s.
Not much point replacing the MAF unless it's faulty. The stock MAF and stock injectors are good up to around 250rwkw. Autobarn used to carry aftermarket MAFs as advertised in Street Machine etc. Otherwise try sites like VPW etc.

I'm not sure the 80mm MAF on the 5.6L strokers is even good to 250. I would be very reluctant to go to an aftermarket "calibrated" MAF when the factory 70/80/90mm MAFs are so good....and if you are going to make more than 280-300rwkw then look at SCT Bigair MAFs (using the same electronics as the factory MAFs). Stavros.....if your not making more than 200rwkw, then look somewhere else to spend your money.

The 90mm SVT ones are easily got and I'm looking at getting one myself, if there are enough of us interested I may see if we can organise a few to come over at once.

To rehatch an old thread, need to get myself a new air flow meter for my XR8 (series 1) but still running stock injectors, everything really. Obviously the 90mm would be too big plus don't really want to waste money on an edit for the moment.
Would I still be better off buying from the states or from here and would sort of money should I be looking to spend? Something like this? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1993-...Q5fAccessories |

The std AU V8 MAF is 70mm, and the one you listed has a different plug/connector for the electronics.

I would say stock for now. No mods are planned till well after others cars are finished.
Anything larger would require an edit and not really keen on spending extra money? What is an edit worth? |

Just to agree with xr8ute, my 70mm maf is pegged at around 180-190rwkw's.

And broken it is. Comes up as a fault when plugged into the computer.
Different plugs you say, well that just sucks then. Don't want a bigger one or anything like that really. The standard Series 1 airflow meter would be enough. Don't want to waste money on edits and tunes when the car is basically stock and have plans for the future. Would I be able to find a airlow meter to suit my needs from the states? |

FTG sell the T3 series MAFs. They are strokers so it it is well equiped for future mods.
I think they are down to their last few so get in quick.

Do the FTG T3 MAFs include the electronics, or are they just the 80mm housings?
Rosco, an original AU V8 MAF is by far your best option. Have you called any wreckers yet? FTG would be worth a go if you haven't called them yet. I am sure there would be a few E-Series guys interested in buying the 70mm housing from your dud MAF (to use with their 55mm sensor/electronics).

Thanks for that, just wanted to see if any from the states that were 70mm would do the job. Last thing I want is different size MAF and injectors but was an option. I'll ring around and see what I can find. Thanks.
