Default New Focus coming mid year

Hi all.just went into a ford dealer here in Brisbane to organize a test run in the focus zetec.I was told that dont bother because a totaly new focus zetec is coming into Oz as of midyear.
He said the interior is being changed, the exterior shape and the car will have heaps more accesories, most likely a 6 stack CD and 6 speed box.
So being a trusting fella ,im going to wait a see.
Has any one heard the same rumour?

Mick

I believe the new one is out in the UK. See link http://www.ford.co.uk/safari/focmca/-/-/-/-/-/-.
I've head the rumour that the new XR5 is coming out here around April-May, but didn't think we were going to see the entire range until late 08-early 09. But I could be wrong!

Good question!!! Being that it comes out of Europe i would assume so... will have to ask the question!

Might have something to do with Ford putting on some substantial bonus money recently and a demo programme to clear existing stock. There is plenty available. You should start to see some VERY good deals around shortly!

That does look good.

I've seen a few Astra and Corolla wagons about, any reason why Ford cant bring their's out to play?

Hi,

I asked that question at the MMS, but after a few minutes talking from a rep, i still did not have an answer :togo:
My thoughts are that because Ford will produce the Focus from 2011, they will also have to make the wagon version. So, it might be a better marketing strategy to get a Focus wagon in the line-up instead of the Mondeo wagon which competes with the Territory and Falcon.

wagon praticality would be a big selling point for a lot of people, our family included... Why buy a Mercedes C-Class Estate for $80,000 when you can have an XR5T Focus Wagon for half that money which is several orders of magnitude faster, handles better, and won't cost you the world to service? Pretty convincing argument to me....

Uni/.

PS It also has the advantage of not having a fugly grill...

The Mondeo wagon is confirmed for later this year:

"Ford Australia president Bill Osborne said the dramatic-looking [Mondeo] station wagon version that was unveiled at the Melbourne International Motor Show was also expected to lift sales when it was released later this year."

hey guys, new to the site

been looking for new car as I need a new one and am hating my current one ('99 excel :togo: )

been looking at:

new lancer vr/vrx
'06 VE SV6
'05 Subaru WRX

still have no clue which one tho, and now I've found this one, and it makes it even harder, especially reading that the newer model will come with DSG/Twin clutch transmission (just on diesel?).

Was actually planning to wait off the year and buy the new Ralliart Lancer beginning next year, but don't think i could wait that long.

So when's this out? looking that the TDCi version

Welcome to the site!
I don't blame you for hating your ride
I don't believe the new focus is coming out until early next year, same time as the Evo X. It actually says earlier in this post that the new XR5 is due around April-ish, but the entire new range won't be due out until next year.
Might be worth just keeping your ears open anyway.

Cheers,
Regan

After reading other Forums (and this one), the UK has just started taking delivery of the new Focus ST (same as our XR5). My dealer has suggested that Australia will get the new XR5 mid year, as these are made in Germany, while the standard Focus is made in South Africa, and won't be down here until early next year.

So if you're after a face lifted Foucus XR5, then you may be lucky to get one soon-ish. I'm expecting the rush will be on once the dealers get their shipment info though!

Has anybody heard if the Diesel CC is on the horizon to give the Volkswagon Eos some competition?
