i have had the dreaded water in the tranny problem. due to illness i havnt and wont be able to fix the old girl for a while. it has been 2 months and im wanting to start her to keep everything else running well.
so do i disconnect the trans lines and block them and plug the line holes in the radiator? if i can do this and run the car how do i clean out the auto fluid from the cooling system? any and all answers please. just need to be able to start the car, not drive. |

Mate... you need the tranny drained and serviced... disconnecting the oil cooled in the radiator simple isnt enough, as the water in the tranny will move around even in idle... the engine can sit for ages compaired to the damage thats happened to the transmission... sorry mate, but you need a pro...

correct the longer the water sits in ya transmission the more corrosion it'll cause. you need to atleast get it flushed & serviced as soon as possible to remove the contaminaion of the water.then if you need to you can block off oil lines till you can afford to replace the cooler\ radiator.
it sucks but it's not something that'll get beter with time unfortunatly.
