Default All Ford Day Judging

This year for the Kiwanis Geelong All Ford Day (Feb 15th) we will be using judges sourced from the individual clubs, as we did last time. It was well received by the entrants last year, being judged by your peers. I'm looking for enthusiastic people, 2 or 3 from each club, to volunteer their time and skills to assist me for this years event. Volunteers will get free entry and have lunch & drinks supplied for the day. I anticipate it will take around 2 - 3 hours to complete. Would any interested people please contact me via here, or at aporte33@ford.com or on 0400 014913. I will also be contacting all of your clubs individually.

Also a reminder that the pre-registration closes on 31st January. If you're coming, make sure you pre-register, entry fee $20. Or it will cost you $30 on the day and you'll have to queue for payment, while pre-registered cars go straight onto the arena. See www.allfordday.org.au

Thanks,

Tony Porter
Head Judge - Kiwanis Geelong All Ford Day &
President - Geelong Falcon Gt Club

Can I be a volunteer???

I've only seen like two Australian cars in my life in person.

Talk about impartial, haha!

I'm arriving in Sydney on February 8th leaving December 27th.

Have you ever seen anyone do an FPV backpacking trip to Australia before?

Seriously, if I can help out in any way... I'm totally there!

Since the judging format is based on presentation/cleanness on the day and build quality rather than concourse, then product knowledge is not important. So long as you're a avid car buff and actively involved in the car scene, then you would be of help and welcomed to join the judging team.

Not to come across as a party-pooper, but.....
Are you not concerned at all about in-club nepotism? Just from my casual observations at a lot of shows, many of the club members that center around particular makes/models seem to just hang around the club "display" and talk about only there own stuff. Seems if you're not "in the club" then you're NOT in the club, if that makes any sense.
Please don't take this as any complaint, just an observation. Besides, I don't usually submit my cars for judging so really probably not my business.....

It's for that very reason why I create a roster and rotate people around so they don't judge cars that are in the same category as their own or clubs. That's why I need volunteers earlier, that way I know who's coming and from where so I can develop the roster.
