Hey
i was a little unsure where to post this, in the pits or here or an engine section. i figured here as it would see the most traffic (hopefully that's ok?) I was wonder who makes the FORD Nascar Engines, i know Arrington make a the R5P7 Race Engine but thats a Chrysler engine.... i'm pretty sure Roush makes them, but i can't find a site that lets you look at their actual race engines.... (unlike Arrington who actually sell them!!!) does anyone have any info on who makes the Ford Nascar Engines??? Cheers |

All NASCAR engines start out with a factory block and the teams take it from there.
Rouch Performance http://www.roushperf.com/ do the engines for Jack Rouch's teams http://www.roushracing.com/ I'm not sure if others like Ambrose's team http://www.woodbrothersjtg.com/ do their own or are supplied by Rouch. |

They all pretty much make their own to a control formula, Ford Racing Yates heads, Ford Racing SVO block etc... over 820HP from 357 ci for the Nextel cup cars (without restrictor plates).

Yeah no problems at all because they get fully rebuilt after every meet.

yeah i know that, but most serious race engines do.
but still, the torture that those motors put up with is amazing! i dont know of many other engines that hold together that well, 8000+rpm for a few hours is a long time, its constant if there is no safety flag or anything like that (apart from pit stops). |

Yep, they go around at far less than 8k rpm a lot of the time. The sponsors sure get value for their money!

Years ago was in a ski boat with Chevy 500 ci big block.. At 7500 rpm it threw a leg out of bed and I was right beside it... Frightened the life out of me!!!
This all came back the other day when a turbo 4AGZE engine was on dyno.. Pulling 9500 at 25 Lb boost making 240+ wkw ... It didn't let go though!!! Oh the ski boat!!! I had to put my life jacket in the hole the rod made or we would have sunk...It was Spinner Blacks boat from Morrinsville N.Z...
