Rather then put it in B-Series I thought I'd check with everyone, has anyone tried these? do they work, or what are the down sides to using one?

Mate of mine used one, i saw first hand how well they work. Its more a minor touch up than for major marks on the car though.
Pretty much replaced the clear coat thats been taken off and blends well. |

I've used one on our "Edge" coloured G6E, and it does work, but you have to follow the instructions. You clean up the cut, use the pen as directed, and most importantly find a sunny spot to sit the car in for a few hours so the stuff cures. Also the instructions say to draw it on and wipe off the excess...do this, otherwise it ends up too heavy and won't look good.
Another tip...on the TV advert they're about fifty bucks with shipping...on Ebay they're from a place in Melbourne for only about $10 all up. |

I've got a decent scratch in the clear coat on the fuel tank of my Ducati... I'm gonna give one of these a go.
Edit: just picked one up on eBay for under 5 bucks... Cheers for the tip.

Cheers guys, I've got a couple ones, not hugely noticeable but do tend to annoy me.
Will give them a go.

its a scam, the ads are actually played in reverse... when filmed they use a white paint pen and draw a line on the panel, play it backwards and voila, instant 'scratch' remover...

For those that tried this product, how did you go?
I bought it cheap off ebay and applied it to a few minor scratches on my car. Upon first application, it worked great on light scratches, not so well on anything heavy enough to feel with the fingernail. You could still see the scratch but it was a lot more subtle. I looked at it again a few days later and it looked as though it was never applied in the first place - as though the product had washed off. I followed the instructions to the T and let it cure in dry daylight for a couple of days before washing the car. I repeated all this again with a second coat but same result. It doesn't seem to have been effective for me, at least with the technique I used. How did it go for you?

my 2x $1 ebay china specials arrived quickly,
look exactly the same as the one a the top of the page, and on the tv ad. didnt arrive in blister/board packaging to save on freight, and both of them worked fine for me. it can take a few goes to build it up the the level of the paint. it wont recolour your scratch if it has gone through the clear and the colour. most scratches are only on the surface, into the clear. the pens also work on plastic scratches, headlights, mudgaurds, tail lights etc and can also reblacken plastic trim too. i have reorderd another 10 of them the other week.

I ordered mine on e-bay for $5. I then got an e-mail from e-bay to say the listing had been removed due to copyright concerns and I should contact the seller for a refund.
Luckily mine had already been shipped and turned up yesterday although I am yet to try it out. |
