my understanding is most of the state gov`s are broke anyway as the federali`s withdrew a lot of funding to make a surplus, if they buy the locals won`t they paying more as opposed to over sea`s imports?

I don't understand why it's anything but this to begin with, unless a local car maker doesn't supply something in the vehicle style they are after (duelcab ute for eg) every purchase should be local.

Typical ,hot air ,in opposition and cant do anything about it, even worse they had the foresight when in power to do the opposite, buy anything but Australian
Gillard should take the lead and buy Aussie made but oh dear if they do that there will be to much carbon emissons and we cant have that can we??? usless governments and the opposition wont support local manufacturing either, god help, us we will all be working in cafe's soon All governments should be buying Australian made everything and when not possible buy imported from someone who at least has a manufacturing base in Australia    (rant finished) |
