I was fortunate enough to drive a Mercedes AMG C63 Black series over the weekend.
This has to be motoring at its finest. A car that goes 12.2 quarters on factory tyres, low 4s 0-100km/h and Mercedes quality and refinement. I found that the car attracted so many hoons wanting to "have a crack at it".. More than a few embarrassed faces when they found out the hard way.. You really need to be a mature driver to drive it, can really catch you out how fast it is, even thoses used to a F6 or GT will be in for a big surprise. Its most peoples dream car, gotta start saving for one, 10/10 Driving it, Its made me look at FPV or HSV cars with big disappointment. |

Granted they're a great car, but you can't fairly compare them to FPV or HSV offerings, completely different price ranges.

They are a nice car to drive and look at, though I found the ride to be a bit too firm for our roads.
The sound is so good when you listen from the exhaust end that I now use it as my ringtone! (gives me a good jolt when my phone rings ) Still undecided on that rear wing though, sometimes I feel it suits the styling but other times it can make the Merc look a bit ricey. Goes hard (thanks to short gearing) and stops just as well. I'll have mine in white with the AMG stripe pack.

I'll go against the grain and heard a what I thought were a few 253 HQ Holdens chug up the road only to look up and see it was a C63 or ML63.
Some seem to sound totally F...d. I have no doubt they would be nice bit of kit to drive and light years ahead of a falcodore in refinement. (Not having a go at falcodores here by the way) |

Another vote for toughest sounding V8 I've heard in a long time. Welcome in the garage no questions asked.

Hmmm the c63 I drove didn't have a rice wing on it (just a lip spoiler) and it was a 4 door sedan not the coupe.. Maybe it wasn't a black edition, the owner said it was a upper spec variant and mentioned black series but looking at a pic of a black series I think it's just the regular c63.. Still a 10/10
Beautiful sounding car |

Yeah, AMG V8s are the best sounding engines I've ever heard. If I ever won lotto I'd definitely consider buying one.

I must be the odd one out because I think they sound pretty average, remind me of the old 253 holdens. Top car though a lot better than a 253 powered holden I bet haha

I've heard a few getting around, and from the outside at least I also think they sound absolutely rubbish.
Wouldn't be enough to keep me out of one given the chance however. |

I've also given one a bit of a surprise a couple of years ago in my modded XR6T. (not saying they're slow tho either!) What sort of $$ are they?

Near where I work there is a, funnily enough, black one getting around with no large rear wing. Anyway the sound of that thing is like nothing else. When these start up there is like a punch that gives a small indication of what lurks underneath. Best sounding V8? Not sure, but it ranks highly up there. Another one for me is the Maserati V8 Gran Turismo, the V8 in that sounds just as good. Resemblance to a clapped out Commodore? That must be some Commodore cause I've never heard one like that. Either show proof of one or STFU.
