Default 300c Dyno'd... results may shock some

http://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=y...&v=k9TyVei2sQ8

The result may shock some....

299rwkw when fitted with factory option intake and exhuast. (10-20kw shy of the HSV GTS)

i am thinking thats impressive considering the SRT8 is N/a and the gts is supercharged.

seems like chrysler likes to underquote power figures as well, the the hellcat has been showing mid to high 600rwhp, when they rate the engine at "707hp"

I own one, and I must admit it doesn't feel as quick as my 280rwkw xr6 turbo. The weight is a big handicap. As is the 5 speed auto. Also there seems to be very little scope to eek more power out of it. Having said that its a sub 5 second 0-100 car, sounds fantastic, is very well optioned, much better put together than you think, and has a real presence about it.

They are quite heavy, that might explain your line ups zilo.

Those are some decent dyno figures though. That engine is quite a beast, it's just a shame about the car they put it in.

I'm surprised and impressed, not too keen on the weight though, but still only ~100kgs more than either of the other two, they're all big porkers really.

The weight, thin tyres (245s) and 5speed would hurt it....

It can get 4.4s - 4.9s to 100, but it can be harder to get those time consisently, as it will light up and not get traction.

top speed is 175mph, not speed limited at all.

Its gettin an update in 2 months, so maybe it will finally get the 8speed. Its known due to the 5speed to struggle with in gear rolling acel. as well.

It might not be called an SRT either after up date, as that name is becoming dodge exclusive and Jeep GC.

Don't underestimate the 300, for a non forced induction V8 they go well.

Nice photo, personally it's not at the top of my list. I wouldn't knock one back but I wouldn't choose it over the competitors.

I actually preferred the previous square shape!

coming from a few ZF's I don't find the 5sp lacking at all, especially with the 6.4....Christ a 2stage powerglide would be fine bolted up with this engine :o)

The 5 speed is more than adequate. I just feel it could do with an extra cog. Its not as quick to respond as a ZF IMHO.

looks to go well regardless of being NA, but it is a 6.4 litre, you would expect it have some serious ponies.

If I had a 300C the only accessory I would buy for it would be a Brooklyn Smasher:

Gangsta cars, I love the look of the older one and the current shape.

I drove one of the turbo V6 diesel variants in Italy a couple of months ago. They're called a Lancia Theta over there. Nice car and the engine was impressive. Very frugal.

Looks may polarize but as you know most here appreciate the SRT8. A serious crossover choice for those that aren't inclined to the Mustang post Falcon and want grunt with RWD. Looks great in white Phawk. Personally I'm GK SRT8 admirer, I'd have one in a heartbeat if it suited my needs. Missus loves the 300c never mind the SRT8. It's all each to their own. If only Rodge had of understood that in lieu of posting it as the second coming.
