I have my drive day coming up in Sydney on 2nd December 2014. Anyone else on the forum going on this day??
I know of one other from the forum going, so was just keen to see if there were any others? I'm still tossing up when i'll make the drive up from Canberra, thinking Monday night, so that i don't have to drive up first thing in the morning. For those that have been, any hints/tips? Was planning to put my stock wheels/tyres back on, but considering my rear invo's are wearing pretty quick i might keep the invo's on and just wear them down. I can then use the stockies and get some general use of them, no point ruining two sets of tyres! Would love to have had the car intercooled prior to the day, but that won't happen, got too many other costs to worry about at the moment!! |

Booked in for the 1st.
I went around in Invo's with after market rims. Great tire that sadly failed with the front rims when I got too aggressive with the corners. I will be there on the 1st with my semi slicks. Keep the tyre pressure up (sadly, cause of the low profile, if you corner too hard, it can strip your tyre off the wheel) and will save you if you hit the ripple strips. Stay off the curbs and you'll be fine. Not sure how many laps you get but you'll find the grip fall away once you get some heat into them. Not sure if they are doing the GP circuit cause you'll have fun at turn 8 if you put the foot down early. Your brakes will also start to go away from you as well so keep tapping the brakes before you enter the corners as you do more laps. Else go out there and have fun!

Thanks for the tips mate... just wondering if it's worth me putting the stockies back on? or just keep the invo's on? Invo's will be better for rear wheel traction. Not sure how hard they'll let us go though, given it's the FPV drive day thingy.

Not sure if you can change days (or if you want to), but I'll be there on the 1st of December. I'm there with another mate and his F6.

I will be there on the 1st Dec in my GT335.
Did one of these FPV days back in 2007 in a BFI F6 Typhoon (ah I miss that car). Looking forward to it. More fun if it rains - yes I'm serious! |

Good to see a few people going on both days, at this stage i'll be sticking to my date of the 2nd, but in hindsight, the 1st might have made more sense for me!
