Fingers crossed it has the ecoboost petrol V6. If it retains the current 3.2 diesel, it would be a massive disappointment.

I tend to agree although I dont want to because Im worried it will stay.

A V6 EB would be the icing on the cake if Ford want to stay ahead of the game. if they are happy to tick over and not push fine thats understandable.

But with the new players coming into the market, with an established name, they need to continue the momentum.

A Tdi, not matter the output will be disappointing. Atleast have the V6 EB as an option and I guess all the R&D is done on the 5 pot.

But in saying that perhaps some more mods would be needed for their durability testing if they are meeting higher internal standards.

Either way its cool, just hope its more than a sticker pack.

To live up to the name it needs a performance motor and good suspension - not a sticker pack hopefully!

Anything less and it won't be a Raptor IMHO.

And Raptors don't have deseasals, turbo (OK, ecoboost) petrol thanks

Stickers accepted, but ONLY if Ford get the performance and suspension right.

Ecoboost and the 10 speed for sure, by then. Suspension will be a big difference I reckon. Tipping interior will be a nicer, more race inspired place to be. Maybe even Focus-like...

This will be a serious car (or whatever else you call these dual cab Utes) IMO.

I don't reckon they'll take the Raptor name lightly.

I've been on record as saying I'd rather pull hairs out of my bum than drive a dual cab ute- could this change that? Hmmmmm.....

BLUESTREAK built 5.2L flat-plane-crank VOODOO with 3.2L Intercooled Kenne Bell blower, 1000rwhp/746rwkw @ 8000rpm @ 20psi on E85. Built ZF with BLUESTREAK 2C Circle D converter. Unbloodybelievable...

Only thing that would sway me to drive a third world tuk-tuk, is if it sported a 5.0 Coyote engine, or 3.7TT EgoBoost V6.

I'm with you- it wouldn't make me lust for one, but if I had to pick a dual cab and this was available, it'd go straight to the top of the list.

That setup in an Everest would be appealing too... mind you the thing would be $100k

Did you watch the video? It's clearly not just a sticker pack, that's not how Ford Performance operates.

Whatever engine they pick, i dont see it being a bespoke installation. So if this picks up a petrol V6 thrn surely the rest of the range would be getting one too.

I think, if petrol 3.5LTT is fitted, it'll just be for the Raptor.

They'll pick up the funds when they start selling these in the US and Europe.
I remember reading, that the US have issues (in their melons) regarding Diesel and i think the Raptor name is PERFORMANCE. A nice TT3.5L V6 just oooozes the goods!!!

The best they would fit is the 2.7. It makes no sense fitting the 3.5, its like giving the Focus and Fiesta ST the same engine.

For those commenting on the tyres about how the KO2 existed prior, looks like they are indeed special.

Which means $$$ for me when I go to replace them. I wonder if you'll be able to order them from 3rd parties. Maybe someone will test other brands etc. I wonder how much it really matters, although given that they have gone to this trouble I can't imagine for no reason at all...

"Engineers from both companies tested various tyre compounds and suspension settings to come up with a complementary package to achieve the desired traits. The LT285/70-R17 KO2 used on Raptor might look like any other BFG KO2, but it has a unique rubber compound and its own part number."

K02 are readily available, Just had a new set on my Raptor great overall tyre
and as SVT recommended them, that is good enough for me.

it may have Ford Performance at the end of the Ad, but that car was developed by the boys and girls at Geelong, Lara and Broadmeadows.
