What would one be looking for in price and kms for a stock laser?

Not much, between 700 and 3000. You get what you pay for though, but I just picked up my second Laser that's almost perfect apart from some small mechanical problems that I fixed myself for $750.
BTW, the bubbleback lasers only came out until 1989, they were the 'KE' model. |

I think the bubblebacks were still in production till April 90 ... cos I am sure that's when the KF started up.
