:

My name's Rupinder and I've been lurking around the forums for a while. I've got a EL Falcon GLi, Vic Taxi Pack LOL. It's done 950,000kms and it's one owner with full history...it belonged to my old man.

It's had a respray in Tiger Mica after it was decomissioned. I've also put a Pioneer head unit in, along with a Cadence Z4000 amp and 2 Pioneer 12 inch 800W subs.

It's got it's original engine (the head's obviously been done a couple of times) and trans still in it but the diff's been replaced. The engine still goes pretty hard.

Here's some pics...

I'm Sundeep's cousin btw.

Welcome aboard matey, and great transformation with the car! I'd be fascinated to see what it's like to ride in at that mileage.

Hey guys,

Is it true that if a Ford reaches the million mark with the original engine still intact (and you can prove it) that they will take it off you and give you a brand newie? I have heard this, and don't know if it's urban legend.

Apparently they get it off you so they can take it apart to see why it lasted so long!

My guess is that's an urban legend. There's similar ones kicking around regarding cars that get excellent fuel economy as well.

Then again maybe it is true, and they do it because they know blooody well that no car they build will last 1,000,000kms without engine work! lmao!

Pfft, we're lucky if we can get a 5th of those kms out of the head gasket!

after a while they go all loose at the top, the foam rubber section seperates from the steel inner ring and you can turn them and they general roll under your hands.. To fix it all you do it fill a syringe with some glue and insert it into the foam outer. It bonds back onto the metal ring and dries nice and firm. Use the syringe in a few places and you can't even see the difference

I've noticed the EL ones actually deteriorate...
EF ones are made from something different.

The EF wheels are made of rubber, after a while the pattern stuff on them starts to wear out and they go all shiny and kind of start to swell up. The EL one's are made of foam and they just kind of deteriorate. The one in this car was almost down to the metal.

Yer, there was too...

But there's one I've seen around.

I'm trying to remember where. I think it's on Princes Hwy, in Dandenong or Noble Park or something. It's always in the service lane on the left as we head to Alex's work...
