I just want to start off by thanking the guys who organised this day. Neb, well done! I agree that this should become an annual event.
It was a pretty good turnout, although not quite as massive as I expected and runs were very easy to come by. Some really nice car there from both camps and some good times being posted. On a personal level I came away a little bit disappointed, I did get a new PB but not by much. My best on the day was; 60ft 2.26, ET 15.45, MPH 89.3 If I could of just got one more run at the end of the night I know I could've squeezed a 15.3 out of her. Oh well, that will have to wait for next time out. I have got some pics so I'll post them later this afternoon once I've uploaded them all ;) EDIT: Oh, and guys don't foget to add your slips to the timeslip DB. http://www.fordforums.com.au/timeslips.php? was a pretty good day......damo cracked a 14.8 on his first run in the sprint
damn shame about the SlowEA......least it did it after the burnout and not half way down the track |

Definately a good day. Thanks for running the night. I got my wise on my birthday (yesterday) ;) A new PB. Damn DYO. Broke out : I was just getting used to the car. I'm sure it'll go faster.
Timeslip FF.au database blows. 600*600pixels is useless. Should be at least 500*1500.

Hey guys,
Thanks so much for a great day yesterday. This was an event that so many missed out on, that I hope they are kicking themselves. It was a huge day, great atmoshpere, and your members were all great people and very friendly. I am sorry I crossed to the dark side and sold my ford (I already had 3 skylines, and the BA was a POS), but it was really cool to see you guys laughing at my number plates on my old green Ti R31 (Number plates say nancee), and then hear the comments after her very respectable burnout and 14.5 second pass. That was a PB for the old girl. It was a shame there were not more NA R31's and more turbo or forced induction E series there, it was a bit lopsided on the NA and FI scale. What a shame about the luverly red car that went bang. Lucky you had a trailer. All the skyline nuts really wanted to see that car run. Heres a small link to the clip of Nancee doing her best. http://www.zippyvideos.com/90784262903995.html All in all, it was bloody cold, but a great day, thanks again guys. Can't wait till next year, and hopefully, we will get a few more hard nosed enthusiasts there. Last edited by cazz; 22-08-2005 at 07:54 AM. |

First of all I'd like to thank everyone who helped make the event happen, I had a great time, despite only doing four runs. Thanks heaps to Al and also to Mick and James? (sorry mate, i'm s--- with names LOL) for the help on the way home. Oh, and to Ben and John and whoever judged best e-series burnout, i'm sure someone did a better one than mine, but thanks ;) (If anyone caught the burnout on video, let me know please!) Cheers everyone
I was somewhat dissapointed with the less than blistering 17.1 @ 81mph, but i'll just make up some excuse and say my RHR caliper seized (i think???) on the only run i didn't get wheelspin off the line (the 17.1sec run). I also had 1/2 tank of petrol and 1/2 tank of LPG, so yeah, that may have hindered a little LOL. I think it'll manage a 16.8 or 9 with lower fuel, and without the rear end clunk/scrape noise i had for the last run. But excuses excuses haha, 17.1 is the time i ran on the day, so i have to take that :P Jared

Yep was a great day.
Best was 17.1 (0.003 of a second quicker then ONEREDED :P) I couldnt work out why i was getting .1 of a second slower each go, then realised on the 18 second pass jarred had put crap in my boot like a 9" diff! Car was running crap due to a flogged Dizzy and TC. But still least ive got something to work off ;) Thanks to ben for organising it.

Get out of the car to be told "Hey mick did you get my crap outta your boot?" to lift the boot and find a 9" diff and a pile of car parts

ROFL @ the 9" centre and all my stuff sitting in your boot Mick, I did tell you it was there when it started raining :P I just should have remembered to take it out... As i said last night, i reckon yours is the only car in AUS to run an 18sec 1/4 with a nine inch diff in it...

Well guys...Sorry I couldn't have a go at those skylines for ya's. It must have been music to there ears when they heard that knocking noise in my engine. But maybe next time....if the lifters will stay in one piece...lol. Anyway...i was happy with the tow car XR8...i wasn't expecting a 15.08 out of it...especailly on its first pass.

I had a really good day/night!
Was a surprisingly good night, considering the way the weather has been. Was a bit of rain but it didn't last too long. Congrats to all of the guys that hit new PB's! I definitely agree, it needs to be an annual event! Good work to the organisers! |

No official time list.
we didnt have anywhere near enough people to man the timeslip hut. Thanks to neb for organising it all, it went pretty well we got owned by the skylines.. a complete lack of boosted eseries ruined our chances. Winners of the trophies were: N/A 6cyl - ED I6 with a low 14.3 or 14.1 i can't recall which N/A 8cyl - Sprint ED with some impressive high 14 second passes at insane terminal speeds Forced - dcstraight with a 16.1 on a completely useless tune ;) only boosted car to have a run so he had it all the way. Best Burnout - onereded let rip with a nice one and scored this.. there was also a massive burnout that was done by one of the skylines! Slowest E-Series with to K-Man with a best of 17.6 before encountering problems and heading home early - there is a trophy for u mate bad luck to Dave (EASPRINT) with the car giving up after the burnout (but WHAT A BURNOUT!!!) Everyone ran to the fence to see his first run so good luck getting it fixed mate Congrats to Damo for his impress MPH, deffinately going to see some tumbling times from that car with well over 100mph onboard. Also congrats to Brett for winning the DYO - was good to see a Ford winning something for the night! The skylines were deffinately impressive with many running into the 12's

Yeah, I suspect i have tailshaft unis on the way out, a bit of a buggered diff and either a seized caliper or a warped rotor. Amazing amount of damage caused from only 4 runs. On the bright side, i went out with a BANG : Thanks to all who organised this meet, was great fun regardless, was also good to catch up with my old car club. Had my car not rooted itself, i soooo woulda had best burnout in the bag :evilking:
