I heard on the news that some Sydney servos have ULP at 149.9. I went down straight away and filled up at 116.3 (after 8c/litre discount).

Shame it happens tho - some people do turn their anger onto the wrong person. I had to stick up for the rather gorgeous chick at the servo today when a bloke was filling his VS with premium.

Its not right that you or your boss cops it, you are not causing the problem (actually what is causing the problem is it just OPEC?? - was watching a show the other day on Dubai saying how most of there wealth comes from oil, but they are running low and trying to convert to tourism for there next major revenue earner - unsure how much truth is in that but maybe they are trying to grab what they can while they can??)

This REALLY ****es me off. Do they figure that you have some say in the barrel price?

Now if a fuel company director happened to be running the console instead, well...

Yep .. saw ULP @ $1.39 .. and LPG @ $0.40 in regional Vic.

Lets see average 70 litre tank fill = $97.30 ULP .. $28.00 LPG. Ahh, I'll be enjoying my new conversion soon ..

Gas is 0.50/lt next to my work which i thought was unusual. I was driving with my air con and once i saw the price for ULP (139.9) i turned it off and backed off the right pedal.

So for now while it isnt too hot Ill just put the windows down. After all they are electric lol.

And the extra drag from the opened windows will use as much if not more fuel than your A/C.

10c extra times 40L equals $4.00, yet you'll gladly pay $7 buck for a glass of cleaning product in some seedy night club. The world hasn't ended yet chicken little. :evil_laug

Gas is the right option, but the wrong time to try and get it installed (at least in canberra). I rang the 2 biggest gas installers and they have a 6 to 8 week wait as APA can't make the gas tanks fast enough to keep up with demand.

I thought that LPG was going to have an excise put upon it after 2006? Some hearsay from an old thread a while ago. Sorry, can't supply a link.

Meh, I'm thumbing my nose to these prices, in reality we're pretty well off with our fuel. Sure, it's only greed (rather than "dwindling supplies") which is jacking up the prices, not to mention the recent breeze in the Gulf of Mexico, but what we pay for fuel compared to our income is still pretty good (compare fuel prices vs income throughout the 20th century). The 1990s was when we had it the best. Yes, better than those days in the early 70s when fuel was 5c/L or whatever it was.

/Ghia5L will drive home with a heavy foot and a big grin tonite

At the moment I'm suffering doing homework at uni (yes, 1.10am at uni).

Having said all that about petrol, LPG is the fuel of the 21st century. At least for the first half: We've got heaps of it :sm_headba

I think its confirmed that excise will be gradually introduced. 12.5c/L by 2012 or something.

Fuel of 21st century. When oil runs out, LPG (as we know it today) follows suit!

I tell ya what tho, Im usually a proponent of letting the market sort itself out and that we should pay what we have to pay - but with oil coming off to $65/bl and AUD gaining ground against USD, by all means the refined product should be cheaper. I think the petrol suppliers are really testing us at the moment.
