Default Head gasket.

Well after many many kays I'm finally up for a head gasket. Since this is the first time i've had this problem i'm unsure of which gasket to go with. Do I go to Ford and get the original part, or the AU2 part which i've been told fits (I wouldn't have a clue so a bit of help here would be good) or go to bursons and get what ever they are flogging. Also what else will I need to replace whilst we're in there?

No don't bother with this.

Just find an AU gasket. They are the new standard, but there will be graphite ones etc still floating around, but the AU one is apparently almost indestructable!

Try a search too before you ask any more questions...

when mine went the guys i went to said that the new motors dont do head gaskets anymore unless there is a problem with the head like a cvrack or leak so i would get this checked also before putting it all back together mine had a small erosion from not changing my coolant often enough it cost about $300 to get the head fixed but came back just like a new one. and it did have 650,000 on the clock at the time.
