Default $5000 to blow!!!

okay so here it is, i have $5000 to enhance my el falcon 96' mod... firstly i am getting 19" rims, (deep dish) chrome, having it lowered... my cousin is sticking on a 2.5 inch sports exhaust with lukey extractors, but thats not included in the $5000, after my lowering and mags i should have bout $2000 any ideas, don't have body kit yet, what should i get and where do i get it

in my opinoin i think stuff the looks, go for power. who cares if the car looks like a thrashed out piece of c**p, imagin the look on the faces of people with sweet lookin streeters when you blow em into the weeds in a "heap of c**p"

I'd go $1k worth of headwork (stiffer springs, etc), DEV 5 cam, T5 conversion, 3.7LSD, Extractors, exhaust.

Stuff the wheels. $2500 for 19" wheels, that look good, and then get gutter rash and you commit suicide cos of it? Imagine the tyre cost each set of tyres? Leave the stockies on, get some good hubcaps.

Easy.

I agree with them ^^^ looks are not important and it's also a deterrent for car thieves when a car looks close to stock. It's what's hidden that counts. Stuff the 19" wheels and get 17" ones, they still look great on a lowered car but will save you some $ which you can spend on performance increases.

If u get a re programable uni chip then u can get it re programmed every time u get a mod done that requires so, so its a mod that can continually be updated to get ya car goin better.

Best idea yet. It'd haul ****! Plus you might have a tiny bit left over for back-up.

don't forget little performance things like, filter, leads, sparkplugs, and last but not least a red rocker cover, man you wouldn't believe how hard it will go with a red rocker cover. ;

Unless you have a never ending cash flow situation then dont stress about the big rims (& tyres) just yet... Stock rims with caps can look good or smaller chrome rims at least...
Save that money, get a body kit and make her look nice and tidy...but definately get the power thing happening...

At the end of the day though it is your choice about rims and looks but never ever forget the power - that is an absolute must :

Good luck with it all and have fun!!

i now have 2 red rocker covers - if i manage to fit them both, will i get close to 20rwkw?

but on a serious note - a nice set of rims for $1300 (17's), 3.45's or 3.7's, cam/headwork, lowering - that'd be a pretty good start at least! i'd get a nice brakes/suspension package on it - make it so much nicer to drive!

I feel a bit out of place saying this but i would buy the mags as there is nothing better
than seeing a nice looking EF/EL with big mags and lowered suspension IMO

Cheers Rod

Turbo kit - http://www.snortperformance.com/

They Have Some Excellent kits for Fords I6's and have some reasonable proof to back up what they sell.

with that sort of money i would go a

Stage 4 Turbo Kit

1 x 46mm polished racegate
1 x kkk 600r turbocharger ( rated over 600hp )

1 x 50mm billet b.o.v

1 x boost referenced fuel regulator

1 x front mount intercooler ( core size 600x300x75mm )
3 inch s/steel dump pipe with o2 sensor bung
2 inch s/steel screamer pipe ( from wastegate )
Teflon braided oil feed lines, vclamps, oil sender t
Teflon oil drain lines gaskets and fittings
4 inch pod filter
price 3999.00 + 125.oo shipping

then spend the rest getting it installed and tuned properly.

If only i had found them before i started my turbo saga on my EA.
would have made life easier.

Could always invest it or do something equally useful, and buy a Ferrari in a few years instead.

Maybe.

i wouldn't ever attempt a turbo project on an e-series unless i was using straight gas and could EASILY get the thing engineered.

There's too much stuffing around otherwise.

on later model cars, the LPG/Petrol issue doesn't make much different in terms of engineering, it costs the the same either way
