I've seen bigger
If you really want to see a big dog, Staghounds are one of the tallest dogs i've seen, my neighbour has one that can jump 5ft high fences without hesitation!!! |

My parents showed Great Danes, one of them Atria was her name, at 14 mth’s old she was 33" at the shoulder, and 42 1/2" at the top of her head, she could walk up to the kitchen table and wrest her head on it and it would be level with her back,
BUT the BIGGEST Great Dane that I have seen was on of John Morehurst's dogs and he was 36 1/4" at the shoulder (biggest scaredy cat in the world) I do know that the world record for the BIGGEST dog is held by an Irish wolf hound.

It is of bulkier build though, it is very powerful. They kill (literally) packs of wolves by themselves. Considered one of the most effective, if not the most effective stock (primarily sheep) guarding dogs in the world. They grab the wolves by the rear of the neck in their mouths, then lift them off the ground and break their spines... ' It's also not a "Macedonian," dog, it originates from the Šar Mountain Range, on the border of Kosovo and Macedonia, its alternative names are Kosovo Mountain Dog, Kosovo Shepherd Dog, Yugoslavian Herder, Yugoslavian Mountain Dog or Yugoslavian Shepherd Dog. They stand 56 to 61cm tall... weight can very, but 45kg is the general average, though they can reach 70kg.
