A 5 hour wait for a donut that will repeat on you for 5 hours.

I've had KK's before. Not really a doughnut person, but after trying just one, we bought 2 boxes back to Canberra. And in July, we get our first store. I can see the other doughnut places struggle. The old Cinamon doughnuts just don't cut the mustard anymore. KK's are king

KK is so over-rated.

They're not even real donuts!! Taste like crap.. only good ones are some of the filled ones like apple filled, custard filled, etc.

Donut King is the way to go for real donuts.

The whole idea of a 24hr donut shop with drivethrough is disgusting.. americanisation gone to the extremes.

Krispy Kremes are amazing...WELL worth the wait...if you get there when the red light sign is turned on outside, thats when they have just been baked...and are HOT! They give away free ones as you wait in the queue too!

I remember when sizzler first opened, the lines were around the block, and how many sizzlers are still open now? the lines are because it is a new novelty and marketing hype.

I have actually helped build one in Sydney, there donuts are possibly the worst I have ever had, some of the custard filled ones are ok but far too sweet I reckon,of the people I know that have had them 6 out of ten get heart burn from them and they repeat something shocking.

They have a red light to tell everyone when they are hot and "fresh".over processed garbage IMO.The macdonald's of donut's lol.

You cant beat the plain old cinamon donut, especially just made and still hot.

We are well on our way to becoming the 51st state of the USA. As can be seen a large percentage of our population would absorb American culture without any hesitation. We have already inherited their language as I see that most people above have incorrectly spelt the word doughnut.

Krispy Kreme logo with correct spelling

Dude,

Most of us here drive FORDS, we occasionally eat MACCAS and watch American movies on TV, we fill our cars with petrol from American owned Multinationals and then drive home to the greatest American gift to the Western world........THE BURBS.

Most of us are on this FORUM powered by computers running MS platforms.
Johnny Howard is remotely operated by G W Bush and our foreign Policy is totally dictated by the Yanks

WE"RE ALREADY AMERICAN.........we just don't know it yet !!!!!!!!!!! :

Does anyone know if there are any more opening up in melbourne? Need to see what the fuss is about and I'm not keen on driving to Narre Warren just to queue up for a donut!

I live in Narre Warren and on the 22nd (When it opened) I had to deposit to my account. Saw this massive queue outside , not to mention the drive through line! It extended right to the roundabout, was even crowded yesterday and today. It's definately made traffic slower around there.

Other than that, I won't be buying any. Not a fan of donuts (:

We dont have them in SA and I have never had them anywhere else. Can someone fill me in on exactly why these things are supposed to be so good??? How are the different to DK donuts, for example???

there shaped like a donut but taste nothing like a donut, there softer, lighter, sweeter. pretty much sex in a box the first few times you have them... then there just donuts

its interesting to note that in sydney where they have been around for a while you can walk in and get served straight away and there no longer open 24 hours

The Novelty wears off after a while. It's a new thing and people will queue for hours because other people are queueing for hours. If the queue is long, then it must be good.

I assume the same will happen in Canberra with us. I do like their dougnuts. They have a unique taste. But if it comes to having to queue for hours, then I don't think I'll bother.

Why bother, you are just making these bastards more money for something that is probably left over animal fat from an abattoir.

Sheesh, I can't believe that anyone is willing to queue up for 3 hours just to buy doughnuts for goodness sake!

I'd prefer to head to Coles and get mysef a pack of 4 Herbert Adams jam filled items. MMMMMMMMMMM! A heck of a lot cheaper too, and hardly any wait in the queue, unless you are going on Saturday morning of course! LOL!

Perhaps our culture has just become far too intraverted and self obsessed.

1000's of children all over the world, will die today, 100's while I type this post, because they don't even have a bowl of rice, or clean water.

Perhaps we should watch the ABC or SBS news to get a perspective on just how fortunate we are, and the trillions of things we take for granted!

Don't get me wrong, I love to delight my taste buds, but 3 hours, c'mon! :

My wife got some yesterday, she was in and out in about 2 minutes.
when she said she paid $15 for a dozen I freaked.
when I tasted one I told her that they ripped her off.
The old douhnut van on the side of the road will be fine in the future
