Pretty pointless thread, just talking with a mate, they didn't believe me that you didn't need a www before the web address on most websites.
I've since shown them to an amazed look on their face "oh yeah!" was said. So are you a WWWer? |

Depends, the www in www.somesite.whatever.com is not a standard. Its just massive adoption. Realisticly you could have your DNS resolve to different sites of www.fordforums.com.au and fordforums.com.au as they could be different entries easily.

I generally type in the www bit coz everynow and again I find a site which needs it in.
I've also found you can sometimes access sites at work(not pron tho, i value my job) which you wouldn't normally be able to by removing the "www" bit.

most sites i just type the name if it's a .com then hit ctrl+enter eg. hotmail ctrl+enter

type whatevers easier/quicker, i got asked just the other day why i didnt put it
in any browser next time, in the adress bar type just "google" on its own, dont need www or http or com either :P
