This probably should go in the Focus/Mondeo section, but since it is a major product launch I thought it would be appropriate to post it in the Pub first.
Even though it is a concept, it's at 99.7% production ready. I don't have much info on specs etc, and there are only photos of the wagon at this stage. Production versions along with the sedan and hatch are supposed to be revealed at the Geneva motor show early next year. Photos are in the link. http://www.km77.com/marcas/ford/2006...mondeo/g01.asp |

Clearly Mazda influenced, and very attractive. Perhaps it's a pointer towards Orions look?

Thats sexy as!
Got a bit of Alfa and Mazda 6 to the rear. Pity those headlights never make it to production, other than that its pretty hot. I wonder if Orion will be like that, GM basically forced Holden to go for the corporate look.

Apparently this is the strongest pointer towards the styling of the Orion. I can see a lot of Mazda6 in the rear half of the side profile. More info will come over the following hours/days.

If that is where Orion is going styling wise they are on to a few good things. I love the front grill, and (I thought I'd never say this about a wagon) the rear end of the thing, especially those exhaust tips. I presume that is the direction Ford will be going as the BFII Ghia points us in that direction.

Those wheels are off an XR5 Turbo. I think the front is very Focus influenced.
All in all, a very nice looking automobile.

I see a bit of Astra in the rear lights. But a lot of Mazda too.
But I don't like Mazdas. It looks ok, but I still prefer my Falcons. |

I'd like to see it come here, but I bet it won't.
Ford probably have the same pricing issues with this as Holden had with the Vectra. |

Very nice, although it has a more Japanese favour to it rather than European. Reminds a bit of the current new Lexus. A wider bigger looking verion as a Falcon may date the VE's safer design.

It is a very hot looking Ford indeed. If the next falcon looks like that then I could be sold (if quality picks up). It has a very heavy Mazda and Aston influence. I can see where CDAA is coming from, however I believe Lexus (Toyota) used Mazda as a benchmark for their design.

That looks fantastic! Wish Australia would ditch the Focus and get the Mondeo - it's so much better! Not so sure on the steering wheel, and i wish it had a proper rev guage - that one dosen't really do much for me.

That looks great, I certainly hope they bring it out here, looks to be a nice car. If the Orion Falcon has those proportions (although BIGGER obviously), it will look VERY nice.
Comments up thread saying ditch the Focus for this, are you mad? Room to co-exist very comfortably. |
