but even old fokies (ie. grandparents) have dark windows occasionally.
i'd like to know how the cops know if its too dark, ie. i think the limit is 25%, if you have 20% tint how can they tell the 5% difference?

There should be stickers on the windows with the rating. Regency knocked back a mates EF that had dealer fitted 35% tint on the front windows, which aren't that dark at all.

T35 is the darkest legal tint.

i used to have T35 with a layer of T5. good luck seeing anything inside it. got pulled over by cops for something else one night and he didnt even know anyone else was in it.

plus if you give someone a run, beat them and wind down the windows and the car is full... their face, WTF!!! heheh

You are required to have stickers that have the tint level on them. If you don't they can defect you.

Says who? I've never heard of that happening in victoria. Unless they do it when you've got heavily dark tint.

I don't see Limo's ever getting defected for it :P

Phil set a deal up with some window tinting company on Main North rd at Blair Athol a while ago that was the cheapest tint for around $200 when you mention the E-Series club.

I'm fairly sure the window tinting laws apply all acroos Australia, IE side windows forward of the driver must let 70% of light through, and windows behind the driver must let in 35%. This is only for sedans, wagons can have darker tint on the very back windows providing they have 2 external mirrors (Which all E-Series do).

[edit] - For what it's worth, I highly recommend Scorion Window Tinting on Main North rd at Enfield, behind McDonalds. His prices are the same as the 'special deals' people get for tinting around Adelaide, and he does a much better job.
