you're not legally allowed to display them, they're for eastern states people, if you really want some get one of them to send them over, i'm pretty sure tho that it says in the road rules book it has to be a white background with a red p

Not really ;)

I just have to wait for a reply now.

yeh that's what I'm going for.

Hopefully they say it is legal, I'm 60% sure it is.

If it is, and I get pulled over, I can always refer to the cops to the email ;)

Why would you care how your P-plates look? At the end of the day they are just p-plates...

Cause my car is the same color as yours and it looks better with the red background ;)

Why do you wash your car? To make it look that bit better...

same reason.

Do they still give you the shitty plastic plates when you pass. I remember I used to leave them up all the time and it in the nice summer heat they melted.
Seriously just leave the normal ones up you start putting a different coloured plate on and it just makes you stand out even more which isn't a good thing.

I haven't had problems with melting p-plates. Although my previous ones became so faded that you could actually see the L (on the back) more clearly than the P...

Subject: P Plates - Enquiry

Hello,

Just wondering if it is legal in Western Australia to display 'P Plates'
but with a red background with the white P?

Thanks.
Looks like it's all good to go

Now where do I find them ;)

Would anyone like to send me some plates

Not that dodgy plastic ones, but the soft plastic rubber foldy ones with holes in them.

I'll get a pic soon

Anyone generous?

Even if they arent illegal, they would still be not 'normal'.
Why go out of your way to attract police attention?

You will come off as a smart *** when you pull out your email.
Might not get done for the P-plates, but $50 says the cops could find something if you encourage them.

Your in the ACT and are displaying a NSW (VIC/SA/QLD to be) P2 plate. You can do this on an ACT registered car, police will assume you are a NSW P2 plater driving an ACT car.

The NSW 100km/h P2 'license condition' speed-limit does not apply in ACT as ACT does not limit P plate speeds.
