How do you fit a V8 tickford cover?

Hi
any ideas on how to fit a tickford engine cover to an AU V8 ( non tickford )
It looks as though you need some brackets.
I have got a cover but no brackets!!!
Has anyone got any close up photos of the brackets or has anybody made the brackets?

Thanks to FalKeen and Woosha for all the help.
Woosha let me measure his brackets and I will try to make some up as Ford wanted around $100 for them

Update on fitting.
Have made the brackets myself but I am having trouble with it fitting low enough as the gas convertor pushes some of the hoses up a little higher than original.
I have had to re-route the water hose from the convertor and a bit of other stuff.
I am nearly there though, I only need to put some protection around a few hoses now to finish off and hopefully the bonnet will close.

You sound like a handy fellow peterban!

Do you need a hand Peter ?? still have my valve removal tool handy. I think it could double as a Plastic cover alignment tool also .. :lookedat:

Thanks for the offer Whoosha but I think I will pass on the offer LOL, although I did have to use the alignment tool on the brackets first off ( I think you would have enjoyed yourself )

I still have trouble with pics as it says I don't have any space left.

George you will have to mentor me with the workshop thread.

Talk about being handy, the first bracket I made I bent up the wrong way and so was back the front when I went to fit it. It took me a couple of hours, but I looked on it as practice.

The brackets aren't as neat as the Ford ones but I just couldn't part with $100

anyone have a part number or description for the ford brackets? If I got these brackets and an au cover I am guessing I could fit it to an EL?

Will try to post pics up later tonight.
I see some people have large pictures as attatchments.
When I post mine up they have to be resized and then I can only have about 5 of them.
When I try to post pictures up it tells me I don't have enough space.
The last time I tried to post photos I had to go back to some old posts and remove the photos

First you need a clean workshop with a vice.
Did you notice Whoosha's favourite tool in the picture!!!!

Next a couple of bits of steel

This one is a 37 X 37 X 1.5 right angled section that I cut as I had it in the garage.
I used this to make the bracket over the alternator

This one was a bracket from a TV aerial pole ( again just happened to be in the garage )
I used this for the bracket near the power steering.

This was my first try, but unfortunately I bent it up the wrong way ( the angle needed to be on the other side).

Unfortunately there were a few hoses over the convertor, most could stay but I had to run a couple of them underneath.

Engine finally ready for cover.

Cover finally in place

I did make a bracket that sits on the top of the intake but didn't need it

I hope this makes some sense, I didn't take photos as I bent each section unfortunately.

You may notice the scratched paint. I painted them after I bent them but needed further bending to get the right fit so need another paint.

Thanks again for the help Woosha and XR8BLOKE, without being able to measure the brackets I would never have been able to make them myself.
I had a good laugh when I viewed your serious adjusters, they look well used!!!

AUXR8220 I have my eye on the badge from Bayford for $28, the only problem is that it is a fair distance from Langwarrin, so will wait until they have some more bargains to make the trip worth while
