Default ED + 18"s + what springs??

hey guys and gals.
Well last night i went Wheel shopping and picked out myself a set of 18" mags i will be getting them put on the car next week,
and in 2 weeks i am wanting to get the car lowered,
My Question: What springs would be the best,? i am wanting the guards to sit about 1/2" over the tyre.. i was thinking superlows but not sure, has anyone got any pics of an ED with 18"s and superlows?

apreciate any help you give me.

cheers troy

To get your guards anywhere near that far over your tyres you will need ultras.
I have 18x9 running 235/40 and 275/35-18 with adjustable front struts and super low rears and my front sits pretty much level with the tyre and the rear sits 10-15mm over.

Sorry i dont have pics at the moment.

The muffler hits everything, but apart from that it handles really good, even better around corners

lol yeah but I think the 19" rims make it look better and just by putting Super Lows Front and Super Super Lows Rear you wont get the same look unless you fit 19" GTP's

Just ditch the 18s and chuck on some 14 inch stokies and raise it 500mm.

Hey, at least you'd be original.

My theory is the bigger the wheels you go the lower you have to dump the car.. I got superlows and it sits bloody high on 17"s.. looks stock on stockies.
On the other hand if you know you dont want ultra whats this thread about.. lows will be way too high, so obviously just get superlows...

i know that the bigger the wheel the lower the springs,
and the point of this thread was to see what springs people are using with there 18" wheels, because i didnt know what springs would look the best.
woithout going ultra low.

I was told "ultra" low is just a description used by us as it sounds better than "super super" lows

The King Spring box's actually say "SSL" and "SL"

Thanks - I did the mistake and put King Lows all round in first then as it didnt sit right I had to put in King Super Lows in the Front and King Super Super Lows in the rear

Here are some more pics that will help you:-

Pedders Super Lows all round

King Super Lows All Around with Standard shocks in the Front

King Superlow front with lowered spring base and Ultra low rears

My brother has SSSL's in his commodore, they do exist ;) The guy in the shop said they were the real "ultra lows" where-as SSL were just the "super super lows".

My red ED with 'super lows' in rear, and 'lows' in the front:

As you can see, it's got your request of about "half an inch of tyre under the guard" plus a little more...
