A few I can think of at the moment are;
1. Back In Black - AC/DC
2. Ironman - Black Sabbath
3. Smoke On The Water - Deep Purple

Metallica's "one" and "enter sandman" is pretty good too

U2s "with or without you" and their "one" others too.....like "the fly" and "desire"

Joe Satriani's "always with you always with me"

Santana does heaps of good stuff..... too many to mention..

Where does this list end????.... Floyd, Nirvana on and on....

Child In Time by Deep Purple, that song has a 4min guitar jam that's right up there with Stairway to Heaven.

Oh , Jack250 , you have never owned a Music Shop ! In 13 years I've heard EVERY version of "Smoke on The Water & Stairway To Heaven " you could ever come across

: . Admittedly the originals were good but when you hear them 8-10+ times a day 6 days a week , it tends to wear a little thin , (sorry mate , no offence intended & said with tongue in cheek)

I'd get a couple of guys come in & one would do his version (full blast of course) & his mate would say " Naa , that's wrong , here I'll show ya " Mmm another version , another guy would say "Aww ya both wrong " Etc. Etc. I had to be nice about it as they were my Living .

One Music Shop in Sydney years ago had a BIG sign " When playing guitars DON'T Play "Smoke on The Water & Stairway To Heaven" , I think it was called Harry Landis Music .

I remember in Waynes World... Wayne heads to the music store, he picks up the Fender Stratocaster and starts to play stairway.
The salesman stops him, and points to the sign on the wall.

Yeah, I can see that happening, I'm starting to get sick of it as well but it will always be a classic riff. As for stairway to heaven I don't reckon the riffs that spectacular, just an awesome song.

Yes mate , it will be one of the "All Time Classic's" because there is such a variation of styles in the one song , I can't think of another one like it . Even with my above comment , it's still a great song and always will be.
