Default Vic Roads Are Idiots !

Has anyone else had this happen to them?
I decided to get personalised custom plates for my gtp, and after going through about 200 combinations, we came up with one that we really liked (hubby and I).
It was ANYL8U. We thought it was pretty cool, until vic roads rang me up and told me that it "was deemed inappropriate" : because of the "ROAD RAGE" it could cause...oh my ing_sm .
I thought that this was so hilarious, considering that I had GOTTYA on my last car..LOL
Anyone else had this this experience?

LOL. Out of how many people on the road would actually understand what most plates mean (if they actually notice them) and out of those how many would actually find it offensive/inappropiate. What a joke!

I went to vic roads wanting BITCHN for my mustang, they said it was already TAKEN, the guy from rodders life has it i think and has had it for many years. So i tried another way of spelling it, BITSHN i think it was and the female behind the counter says ' im not sure you can have this, i'll go find out for you'. She comes back and said we cant let you have it because it may offend some people : After speaking to 3 or 4 people at vic roads and wanting to know why BITCHN was allowed but BITSHN wasn't, i walked out of there with TRIK67 plates on order.

Why not try again in a few months as someone else may be making the decision. Or if it is a local Vic Road clerk try another office??

In WA I wanted 4dv8, but no because it translates to "for deviate" not "Ford V8", which if you knew me is appropriate.
There are quite a few that they won't issue, but I like yours, good combo.
I suppose it might instigate some DH to race you.

Oh dear, does that mean I can't get the year I was born on my number plate because I just happened to be born in '69?

I will play the blonde card now and admit that when it comes to 'reading' number plates I can be extremely slow at understanding what it is meant to mean.

So for me and anyone else too afraid to ask the question... what does ANYL8U mean?

Yes I had the same a couple of years ago with FNWILD and FKNACE, they deemed them offensive. Funny how they take your cash up front then refund you by sending out a cheque about 6 weeks later.

Just quietly, them plates sounds like you provide a service for back door shenanigans.

On a similar note I saw on a Mazda 323, ANL-6IX. I'm not sure if it was intentional or not... But I decided not to follow closely behind just incase of a rear end accident.

I had a similar problem with ordering my plates. PHATEL. Meaning PHAT-EL as they were for an EL Fairmont.
The lady behind the counter then told me it was inappropriate.
I questioned her thoughts and she thought it was another way of spelling FATAL. I pointed out what model car it was going on, etc and she passed it.
I spose it just comes down to what that person thinks.
Maybe go to another VicRoads office and order there.

Annihilate You

1. to reduce to utter ruin or nonexistence; destroy utterly: The heavy bombing almost annihilated the city.
2. to destroy the collective existence or main body of; wipe out: to annihilate an army.
3. to annul; make void: to annihilate a law.
4. to cancel the effect of; nullify.
5. to defeat completely; vanquish: Our basketball team annihilated the visiting team.

—Synonyms 1. ravage, devastate, desolate. 1, 2. smash, obliterate, demolish.

8U means "ATE YOU" as in beat you away from the lights. So it is something about an ANAL EATER perhaps?

Righty oh! Now i can see it!
It's ok xcgxl I know what annihilate means... I just couldn't see it within that combo... like others, I was reading it as 'anal'...

Funny thing is it wasn't until we had been travelling behind another club member for about an hour that I realised what ENIAL8 meant. I thought it had something to do with it being an 8 cylinder... :nutsycuck
I guess I just don't read by sounding it out.

Nothing wrong with that, it's probably a chick who's name is GAYLE......lol.
I guess some people see things differently than others, that's why this whole problem started in the first place.

I've got a mate who's got IDAREU on an XR6T. He's had them for years though. Something tells me that they may not pass today.

I'd love to get **** on a number plate one day.

Or two cars, one with JESUS the other with CHRIST and park them next to each other.

Edit, my first one got knocked out by swear filter by the look of it, it was the naughty "c" word, but the two middle letters reversed to NU.

Here in Perth a little while ago was a woman getting around in a 70's LTd with "DOMIN8RIX" on her car.
A yank convertible "DOMIN8"
Mate had 6DO 069
Also saw a clapped out Torana with "PEAHTIHS" (have to read it backwards).
And my personal favourite, although not a rego plate WHALE OIL BEEF HOOKED.

In the N.T , when you order your personalised plates you have to write a breif expaination as to what your combination of digits is ment to say ! I explained I go fishing alot and often get a sunburnt neck , so people call me redneck ! I got the redneck plates no worries! This all come about because some one complained about some yound lady of mediteranian decent had WOGGIRL on her car and said they were offended by it ! Now they just get the explaination that the applicant writes out! I have seen FWORD on a landruiser, CAANT on some ricer, PORKHUNT on a Hilux , just to name a few!
