From what I gathered when I worked next door to the local ford dealer, it was mainly wings and alloys and sr badging to help move last years stock and make way for the new stuff. No engine/interior or suspension mods, these would have to be done on a case by case basis on how badly the principle wanted old units moved.

I'm surprised to hear that Ford put an LSD in the SR. They didn't even do it for Ghias, SWB or LWB.

Ok here are the facts (for series 2, sorry I couldn't find series 3)

SR came SR from the factory it wasn't the dealers
LSD was an option accross the entire sedan & wagon range.
Dealers fitted the alloys.

SR has body coloured mirrors & mouldings etc, it had spoiler, side skirts & chrome exhaust tip.

Cruise was an option, not standard.
It has sports seats.

Like the forte it was manual as standard (though most got optioned to auto)

AU III SR was a limited edition Forte based Falcon built from March - September 2002.
Featured rear spoiler, chrome exhaust tip off the AUII XR6 HP, 16" alloys, cruise control, sports interior trim, SR decals and XR6 suspension.

Basically an XR6 without the HP motor, front end, dash, and Tickford badging.

Reading all the factory brochures and a reply from ford australia to clear this up for myself I have on SRs II/III only the wagon got sports suspension(not xr6 or tickford, just sports so they tell me), LSD (was an option) and yes black and blue interior (Not the XR trim thank god) ,power front windows, roof racks(wagon),cruise, and a chrome exhaust tip for extreme performance. as well as the series 3 skirts and coloured mirrors they started in 01 too.

Oh and Ive gone for Sports Racer = SR please your self here

Check the diff tag,or take it out in the wet and give it some.... and you will soon see if the back steps out.

My S2 SR doesn't have sports seats. I reckon they aren't as good as the S1 Futura's! Side bolstering isn't as supportive.

Perhaps though in S2 Falcons they made the seats a little wider. I've heard that car makers are making our seats wider to cater for our wider girth! LOL!

Somebody bring me more pudding! LOL! Perhaps they're catering to/for me!

Yeah ... there are model codes.
If you become a Donating Member there is great Technical Information when it comes to decoding the model codes.

a dressed up forte that cant hold its own against the older cars (ef)

cruise control

power windows (fronts)

seats

body kit and colour coded all around

nice SR badge to feel special

oh yeah and nice exhaust tip

not worth the extra $$$$ though and my EF keeps the au sr wagon honest and mines stock as a rock..

A mate of mine had a S3 SR. It had the decals, wing, wheels and mirrors. It had sports suspension and sports seats, but did not have an LSD.

Its weird the way all of them are different...

i saw an sr with a v8 badge on the side, i thought it just a six but it seemed to be low at the front for stock so i had a closer look and saw the badge, my jaw dropped, i wanted it!!! does that mean the v8 was an option or was this au a special order?????? or an ex cop??? ive also seen a series 1 forte with the cop special v8 no speed limiter , interior light kill switch, LSD and oil cooler.

I was told by someone that works at Ford that the SR stands for Series Runout. Don't know how accurate that is.
