Default What model Ford does this headunit come from?

Hello all FFAU members,

I bought a 91' U12 Pintara in November last year, from a person who had done a bit of work to it (alloy wheels, general tidy up, replacement of audio system to an aftermarket one). The thing that puzzled me was the headunit that came with it. It obviously isn't the stock Pintara one (even out of the Ford Corsair, which is a rebadged Pintara with Ford styling), so which headunit is it from? I haven't been able to find much from the numbers I can find on the headunit, so I would see what the members of Australia's largest Ford Forum could make of it.

Here's a small version of it:

That's what I thought, I've seen the recent headunits (EF to BA) and none of them look like this.

it's not EA/EB, cause we have one of each (EA S Pack and EBII Ghia), and it doesn't match either.

COURIER, LASER, FESTIVA, If you want the code you will have to get the serial no. off the base of the unit and then go to your local Ford dealer. You will need to prove where you got it unless the dealer does not care.

I have the 4 digit security code for the headunit, was seeing out of curiousity if anyone knew which car the unit came from.

You can rule out a 96 WB Festiva.

didnt kf laser ones look like the ea-ed ones?

also you can rule out kn laser thats different, although could be the model in between kf and kn, the KJ cause this one has the cd changer control, and our kn has the cd changer control, but the kf we once had didnt

Wow, thanks for that. Would you have a model no. or something I could find some specifications about it, it's been plauging my head to see if it's worth keeping or to get rid of it when I redo the stereo in the Pintara (not likely, I want to get rid of the whole car ASAP and save for something worthwhile (an AUII Fairmont would be nice).
