Why did they have to bring the falcon into it? Dumbasses, you just want to kick some journo's in the balls sometimes.
Very neat looking setup though! twin turbos, guess CAT600 is onto something..LOL

Double the power of the falcon would mean they are talking about the i6 ?? wouldnt that be like comparing apples and oranges? The journo couldn't mention his meal ticket(holdon) now could he.....

If it has the soundtrack of the 6.2L they are onto a winner, but with a TT to play with it will still be a modders dream for big $ cars like the 6.2 is.

So is it based on on the current Mercedes block or is it an all new design?
Rumours of AMG switching to twin turbos has been going on for a while. Sounds pretty impressive. |

I'm guessing the 14kw increase should be 'power', not torque as stated..
Why don't they compare it to the turbo I6? What is the kw/L of the highest output 4.0 compared to this one? If that consumption is true then that is a pretty good achievement. |

I blame Audi for this, when they released the 580hp TT 5.2L V10 in their RS6, the head of AMG stated that they are NOT getting into a horspower war and that the 6.2L V8 will suffice for some time to come.
How things change in such a short time! It's great that they are sticking with V8 engines but something tells me it won't have the irresistible character of the 7200rpm 6.2L V8. And why they're going to continue calling it a "63" is beyond me. (maybe they want to keep the heritage in their line-up)

Its becoming an increasingly stupid exercise to raise power and torque so high.
Try driving the 2004 E55. Has 700nm torque. The car is unable to be driven to anywhere near its max, as the traction control just kicks in every time. Only from roll on in the dry will it have some form of traction. To me it felt like a fast but pointless car to own. |

E55 is fairly easy to drive, try driving the s65 amg V12 Bi-Turbo. that will make you happy in the pants. C63 has traction issues off the line too. But yeah on a track with warmed up tyres it would be alright.
