Just a curious question. Long story shorts, I am just trying to figure out which of the 2 cars below would be of a higher value (both are auto with no damaged and run fine)...
2010 FG XT Falcon Brand new car fitted only with engine & transmission of 540,000km car. OR, 2005 BA XR6 Falcon 140,000km Sorry if this is a stupid question. Thanks in advance. |

He said a new car with a motor that has 540,000km, not a car with 540,00km fitted with a new motor.

Such a Hulk question. Why would a new 2010 have an old engine in it. Is there something I'm missing?

Perhaps the FG presents 'as new' but has those high km on the clock?

Why not whack a Camry engine into either of those and create option C....
Option C will be very fast. VERY fast..... Sorry , my bad and my apologies up front, but I couldn't resist.

I am trying to work out "the riddle" here like everyone else, so I thought I'd start by viewing your previous posts in this forum to find a clue. All your previous posts relate to removing parts of the following... "I'm currently trying to dismantle a 2009 fg xt sedan to its body to replace with brand new parts." So are you trying to make a 09 / 10 FG XT as new as possible by replacing everything... Including doors, dash, headlining, seats ?? But the motor / transmission is from an old FG taxi ? If the above is what you are doing, then its a shame that you are going with such a high kilometre engine / trans? I hate to say it... But I get the feeling you are trying to "rebirth" a car and I hope you are not involved in some illegal activity here. Because the BA XR6 would be worth more, and and a cheaper option, especially "if" you've spent all that time, effort and "money" to renew the FG. Last edited by GO FURTHER; 05-05-2016 at 09:27 PM. |

The riddle could be the OP.
He's made 10 posts. 9 of them were starting threads but not replying to answers to his questions

You know how some car enthusiasts would buy a "rolling body" then build the car up themselves. In which case the body itself would be new (considering basically everything going on the chassis would be in perfect condition) but the engine and trans could have high mileage I guess. Maybe this is one of those cases?
Bit of a long shot and I don't see why someone building a car up from the bottom would go so far and then just skimp out on the engine and trans...
