it comes with the gear set, you have the gear that bolts onto the hemisphere and the yoke which is the gear driven by the tailshaft. My terminoligy is rubish so I'm probably calling it the wrong thing, personally I would pay someone else to do it, I've worked on enough diffs to be quite happy never to touch one again.

Yoke is the correct term, its the bit the universal joint caps sit in on the centre face, if you buy a diff centre made for a ford then I can't see any reason why the yokes would be different, check the part number for the uni joint for the model car the diff comes out of, and the part number for uni joint for your car, if they are the same, bingo, if not you're in trouble...

Now I'm sure I was reffering to the wrong thing
He was asking when changing stock centre with stock gears to new centre with new different gears if it is just a matter of swapping over the hemisphere, what I was trying to explain is that the gear that turns the hemisphere also need to e changed to match.

Your talking about the pinion, in the gear sets you have to change the crownwheel and pinion as a pair, they are matched sets. And then they need to be shim'd to align them properly. Best left to a professional if you have no experience with them.

Yes, but you dont change the yoke, the yoke is the front part that bolts to your tailshaft, but to change diff gears you do have to remove the yoke, in order to remove the pinion.

OK now i know what the yoke is. Its the part where your diff connects to the tailshaft. All makes sence now lol
